Hungry Ghost, Dybbuk

Kuli Lane, Melaka Art Festival 2012

This duet performance piece Hungry Ghost, Dybbuk at Kuli Lane was devised by Alan Schacher & WeiZen for the Melaka Arts and Performance Festival Sept 2012 in West Malaysia.  The edited video documents a site-adapted version of a night-time, more theatrical performance presented the festival.

A curiously unfolding series of traverses and occasional meetings between two mythological creatures: Chinese Hungry Ghost, a wandering unappeased soul; and the Jewish Dybbuk, a possessing spirit believed to be the dislocated soul of a dead person.
